How to go about it
Contact us about your animal, his/her and your specific needs. We are only a phone call away: 01375 859 479 or one of our mobile phone numbers at the top or bottom of this page. Often we can already give you a good sense of what we can do for you over the phone, after a short conversation.
Initial visit - unlike many of our competitors, we do not charge for our initial meeting. We want to get to know you and most importantly your animal(s). We want to get a sense of who they are, what their environment is like, what they are used to. Our initial visits need not take too long (usually about 30 minutes) and we can time this visit to fit in with your daily schedule. We will ask you lots of questions about your pet (we have a checklist to make sure we don't forget any important points) and by the end of it, we will have gained a good sense of your pet's personality and habits, and your needs and wishes for your pet's care. We will bring with us photo ID papers, the original of a police check document which shows we have no criminal records. Please note that we reserve the right to refuse a dog if we consider it poses a risk to other dogs or ourselves.
Come visit us! You are very welcome to come and visit us at home. This will help you get a sense of who we are, and how we work. To do this, simply give us a ring and we'll arrange a date and time to visit.
Dog Walking: Now that we have met and you want us to walk your dog(s), we will formalise an agreement (our contract). This contract clearly sets out our and your responsibilities and covers all sorts of eventualities, for the 'just in case' scenario. We will also obtain from you all the contact details we might possibly need, and we will ask you for details of an emergency nominee, should we not be able to get in touch with you in an emergency. We will gradually ease your dog(s) into a group walk, depending on her/his temperament and needs. We can also feed or groom your dog and perform other tasks (medicating, etc) if necessary - simply call to discuss!
Pet Sitting: We have met at your home with you and your pets, and you have decided to book us to care for your pet; we will then formalise this in an agreement (our contract). This contract clearly sets out our and your responsibilities and covers all sorts of eventualities. You will normally hand us keys to your home and all other necessary means of access. We will have learned from you all the necessary details of caring for your pet(s) - food, medication, grooming, and any other useful information. We will come by and spend time with your pet(s), really care for them, talk to them, cuddle them, not just drop food in their bowls and leave! This will also have the added benefit of providing a visible presence at your home in your absence.
You can be certain that they are in safe hands: we never label our clients' keys with their addresses, so even if lost or stolen your home is not at risk.
